Eating Pasta

E.F., Parent

Amanda has been working with our daughter with her regulation and executive functioning skills. She has provided new insights that many other highly trained professionals have overlooked.  This new framing has helped us significantly in parenting our daughter.  Amanda works on her ability to identify and share her feelings, as well as techniques she can turn to when dysregulated.  We have seen our daughter (who is 5) use these strategies independently, and it is huge for her to accept any form of coaching, let alone put it to use.

Amanda has been working with our 9 year old son for the past 2 years.  They work on everything from executive functioning and typing, to improving proprioception and self-regulation.  Our son has become so self-aware, he has even asked me to help him with some of the regulation techniques they have practiced when he senses he is too escalated or anxious.  Amanda always brings a bag of activities carefully selected for what she wants to work on.  She is so much fun that our son would never realize he was doing work.  He looks forward to the sessions weekly!

I am profoundly grateful for the transformative support provided by Amanda in helping my 6-year-old daughter overcome Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). As a single working mom, navigating the challenges of ensuring my child's nutritional well-being became a daunting task until Amanda entered our lives. Her expertise and compassionate approach immediately set us at ease, creating a nurturing environment for my daughter's therapeutic meals. Through dedicated and personalized sessions twice a week, Amanda not only helped my daughter build the foundational skills necessary for a healthy relationship with food but also empowered me with valuable insights and strategies to continue supporting her progress at home.

Amanda's unwavering commitment to my daughter's well-being, coupled with her in-depth knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy, has been nothing short of remarkable. She went above and beyond, tailoring each session to my daughter's specific needs and gradually expanding her dietary preferences. As a result of Amanda's guidance, my daughter has made tremendous strides in her eating habits, transforming our daily lives for the better. I wholeheartedly recommend Amanda to any parent facing similar challenges – her expertise, empathy, and dedication have been a beacon of hope and healing for our family.

We have been working with Amanda for several years now and she has made a significant difference for our family life.  She has worked with multiple of our children on different areas and it has increased our family's quality of life and quality of interaction.  She has developed systems, collaborated with our schools and other care providers, and supported our children in developing skill sets that have served them both at home and out in the community.  We find that the combination of parental support, direct sessions with our kids and supporting the integration of care across our other therapists and doctors in our home environment is the missing piece that we have finally figured out.  We highly recommend working with Amanda!

"Amanda is incredible!  She has such broad and deep knowledge and expertise, and is always seeking new trainings to advance her skillset.  And, to top it all off, the fact that Amanda comes to our house is a lifesaver for our busy household"

"Amanda has worked with our 4 year old son on his handwriting and his pencil grip using her Handwriting Without Tears training.  When we felt he had made enough progress that we terminated these sessions, our son was very disappointed and creatively tried to negotiate to have more sessions with Amanda.  I have no idea how Amanda made handwriting fun, and for a 4 year old!  Again, she is so incredibly broad and skilled, kind, and fun.  I can’t recommend her highly enough!"
